For the new and experienced: Why we do brunches

Hi Ladies,

I know this comes a day early, but I like to periodically remind us (and explain for those of you who are new!) of the overarching vision for the women of ABC:

Our desire is that after ongoing involvement in ABC’s women’s ministry, each woman can look back and say that she has “feasted” - not only on rich foods, though we have that too! But most importantly on the spiritual food of fellowship, edification, accountability, service, teaching/equipping, evangelizing and discipleship.

Maybe you ask, Why feast?
Because God created us for it!
We were designed with longing for satisfaction. Because we live in a broken world, we often look for it in the wrong places. But His goal is that we find our greatest satisfaction in Him. This is not self-serving but rather the most loving thing He can do, because it is the very thing that is best for us. His glory IS our greatest good! So, in all our feasting, we are seeking to deepen our satisfaction in Him.

Our brunches certainly do this, as they hit on several of these focuses. It is such a joy to gather for good fellowship, as we spend the first hour communing over yummy food, thanks to all of you. Beyond that, each brunch is a special opportunity to hear about God’s grace in the life (or lives) of your sister(s) in the Body. And His Spirit takes these words and edifies and equips and convicts and much more as we listen and respond. This not only results in deepened relationships with one another, but also greater praise of God’s creative and powerful work!

So, I hope that you will prayerfully consider joining us tomorrow. Even if you can’t, please be praying for our time together, and especially for Kristie Erickson as she shares with us. May the Spirit work in and through her tomorrow, and in each of us, to fill us to overflowing… for His glory and our good! ❤️🙏🏼

Anna
